Claycult Cambodia ceramic beads are handmade at their studio/workshop in Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat and the great Angkor temples. Their primary objective is to make Claycult Cambodia into a profitable business, to provide sustainable, long term employment in a safe work environment and to offer education and training to their, at present 16, Cambodian staff. All staff have had limited, very limited in this recovering country, opportunities to show what they can achieve. Claycult teach them skills and nurture and encourage the talents they show. They provide training in all aspects of the business from the making of the clay and beads, to the techniques of painting and glazing, to colour and design, to the assembly of jewellery and on to marketing, accounting, sales and customer relations.
Is collaboration between Loom Designs and village artisans in Laos, to make an impact for good. We work collectively to make a positive and peaceful change for the future. From 1964 - 1973 approximately 270 million bombs were dropped on Laos by the USA. An estimated 80 million UXO failed to detonate and still litter the land. Loom Designs Peace Jewellery has been re-cast from aluminium war scrap. Village Artisans melt down this war scrap in traditional earthen kilns and using basic wood ash moulds turning a negative into beautiful meaningful jewellery
Loom Designs donates a further $1 from the sale of each item to COPE Laos, rehabilitating UXO survivors. To learn more visit copelaos.org. By purchasing this product you are contributing to improving livelihoods and giving Peace….Thank You!
